A Small World

My parents were at my house this past weekend, visiting, before leaving for the St. Lawrence River cruise. They left yesterday by train to Quebec City (which is celebrating its 400th anniversary this year) and will be back in Oshawa on Labor Day. They love the house !

Over the weekend, I had a conversation with Greg, the next door neighbor, who mentioned that he briefly met my parents while Mary-Anne and I were out on errands. He told me that he was somewhat familiar with Columbus. He indicated that his best friend had gotten married and moved to Columbus. Greg said his buddy “lived in an area of Columbus called the Short North or something like that.” I said “oh yeah, that’s right downtown and not too far from where I worked before moving up here.” He said that he could not believe the fervor in Columbus for OSU football ! Greg indicated that his buddy had moved to another part of Columbus but wasn’t sure where. In any case, I’ll try to find out. So, it was nice to run into someone up here who was familiar with Columbus.
