Record Snowfall in Toronto

What a welcome I've had to Canada ! In my first winter here, we've encountered record snowfall and the Toronto area is fast approaching the total snowfall record set in the winter of 1938/39. The snowbanks are just unbelievably high. We were hammered over the weekend by two snowstorms. We spent quite a bit of time shoveling the sidewalks and the driveway. I have to say that today was just absolutely gorgeous what with the sun shining down on white pristine snow and high snowbanks. I took several pictures with my 20th century camera and will get them up as soon as I get the roll finished. In the meantime, check out the Toronto Star article below:

Record Snowfall

In the meantime, in an ironic note, I see that Columbus was hit hard by a record setting snowstorm (20 inches). So it seems that, at least for this weekend, it would not have mattered if we were living in Columbus or in Toronto !!

The house is coming along. We are still scheduled to close on the house on March 28th. We are scheduled to go through the house "pre-inspection" on March 19th (just 10 days from now !). We are getting quite excited about this. We took a walk through the new neighborhood and ran into some people who have moved into their houses, including a couple who have been living in their house for close to a year. They were very happy with the developers. They said that if there were any problems, the folks from the developer did not have any problems coming out and fixing whatever needed to be fixed. That confirms the good reputation of Great Gulf Homes. We'll keep you posted !!
